This article reports the promotion of actions by the Education Department of the Municipality of Diadema (SP) for the prevention of violence and protection of the physical and psychological health of children and adolescents. In partnership with the Institute of Health of the State Secretariat of Health of São Paulo, were trained directors of teaching and pedagogical coordinators for implementing a municipal protocol and didactic materials were obtained for actuation with students and community. Emphasizes the importance of the role of education departments introducing the standardization of procedures and flows for give support for educators in the attention of school violence typical and atypical, with clear guidelines on referral of cases of domestic violence and intraescolar violence, promoting intervention and preventing the reproduction of social patterns of the perpetuation of violence.
