PEREIRA, Aline de Souza et al. Mistreatment reports against children and adolescents under the lens of Family Health Strategy professionals. BIS, Bol. Inst. Saúde (Impr.) [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.3, pp. 289-295. ISSN 1518-1812.
The objective of this research was to comprehend the perception of Family Health Strategy professionals (ESF) about the mistreatment reports against children and adolescents. This qualitative work was developed with six professionals of Family Health Basic Team from Secretaria Executiva Regional II, between October and November 2012 in Fortaleza city, Ceará, Brazil. The data were collected from individual semistructured interviews. In addition, the data were organized according to Bardin’s content analyses. All the ethic rights and laws were respected in this research. The results of this research showed fear in the professionals reporting mistreatment cases in children and adolescents, besides the importance of the reporting form for those professionals and possible difficulties found by them, such as filling the reporting form. Concluding, the participants understand the form role, however facing such problem is directly related to its praxis. Therefore, it is hoped that health professionals broke the silence referred to the complexity of reporting mistreatment against children and adolescents throughout consciousness of their role before this issue.
