ABSTRACT This article discusses the recent bibliographic production regarding the insertion of men in public health care policy showing access barriers of this population to health care services in the Basic Attention Network Analyzes the Política Nacional de Atenção Integral à Saúde do Homem (National Policy of Integral Attention to Men’s Health Care)”, published by the Ministry of Health in 2009, and the Plano de Ação Nacional (National Action Plan) currently under way to be implemented in the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS - Single Health Care System) for the period 2009-2011, showing the way to face the programmed vulnerability, present in health care practices and the organization of services and their interference in the integral care for this segment.
