ABSTRACT This article discusses research results from “Sensibility and potency of the black movement organizations for the promotion of health and prevention of STD/Aids”, highlighting those which make it possible to reflect on the dilemmas and possibilities of participation of the black movement in health care issues. The analysis of priorities and themes on the movements program and the possibilities of interlocution with health care emphasize its potential in bringing together elements of dialogue capable of complementing consensus building regarding the health/sickness phenomenon with the subjects of this closeness. A great organizational variety and priority programs of black entities and their influence on the possibilities of adhesion to health care actions was found. The action on social health determinants, occupation of the spaces of social control and direct action together with the black population as multipliers of health care information were indicated as potential for interlocution which require, however, overcoming challenges, such as institutional racism, difficulty of access to information and funding of the health sector in eventual partnerships.
